The North Iowa Bulls earned a weekend sweep starting with a win on Friday night against the 12th ranked team at the ACHA Division I level Iowa State Cyclones. The Bulls topped the Cyclones 5-2 on the road at Ames/ISU ice arena. Bulls netminder Matt Bartels was solid between the pipes posting 43 saves in the win. Jared Ramstead notched the game winner in the third period during a delayed penalty call against the Cyclones.
On Saturday night the Bulls faced off against division opponent Breezy Point North Stars. North Iowa exploded for 9 goals in just over a 14 minute span in the second period en route to a 14-3 win on the road. Conor Jonasson, James Hughes, Tim Santopoalo, Jared Ramstead, and Patrick Sivets all tallied twice for the Bulls. North Iowa defenseman Noah Anderson was a plus 6 on the night. Joe Moza recorded the win in goal stopping 22 of 25 shots against.
The North Iowa Bulls are home this Saturday night against the Minnesota Flying Aces, 7:30pm start.
