Ahlgren leads North Iowa to shutout victory over Breezy Point

North Iowa used a sparkling performance by Tommi Ahlgren to take down Breezy Point, as the netminder did not allow a goal in North Iowa\’s 4-0 shutout victory.

Kohei Sato had one goal and two assists to lead North Iowa. Sato scored 1:51 into the first period to make the score 1-0 North Iowa. Tom Lindgren provided the assist.

North Iowa forced Breezy Point\’s goaltenders to work between the pipes, ripping 38 shots and forcing 34 saves. Wes Paupore made 12 stops and Magnus Lindhe made 22. North Iowa stifled Breezy Point\’s power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. North Iowa\’s offense operated below its season average. North Iowa averages 7.0 goals per game.

North Iowa also got a goal from Jack Stang as well. In addition, North Iowa received assists from Tommy Hall, Brett Gravelle, and David Min, who each chipped in one.

Breezy Point could not produce up to its normal offensive output. Breezy Point puts an average of 2.9 pucks into the net per game. Breezy Point found itself short handed often, totaling 26 penalty minutes and allowing seven power plays.
