2017-18 Bulls Schedule Released

Jul 19, 2017

MASON CITY, Iowa – The North Iowa Bulls will begin their seventh season in the North American Tier 3 Hockey League in less than two months, and with it comes one of the robust schedules in team history.

Both the defending Silver Cup national champ and runner-up are on the 2017-18 schedule, as the Bulls face off against the Granite City Lumberjacks and Metro Jets in non-divisional play. North Iowa will play each team four times, as well as two home games and two road dates against fellow Silver Cup qualifier St. Louis.

The non-divisional schedule also features the West Division’s New Ulm Steel and Alexandria Blizzard, with four games against each. The Bulls’ four Central Division counterparts will each play Todd Sanden’s team six times.

The first key dates on this year’s roster include the opening-weekend contests at the Wisconsin Whalers on Sept. 15 and 16 and a two-day set in Michigan against the Jets on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1. The defending Central Division champs enjoy their home opener Oct. 20 against Wisconsin, and will play their first-ever contest against the Wausau RiverWolves at the Marathon Park Arena on Nov. 24.

The arch-rival and defending Silver Cup champion Lumberjacks visit the North Iowa Ice Arena on Nov. 10 and 11, and host the Bulls on Feb. 9 and 10. Metro makes its first-ever venture to Mason City on Jan. 26 and 27. At 667 miles one-way, the visit to Fraser, Michigan will be the Bulls’ longest trip of the year by far.

The 2017-18 slate features no fewer than three fellow Silver Cup qualifiers – North Iowa could play up to three more at the 3HL Showcase December 17-19 in Blaine, Minnesota to complete their 47-game regular-season schedule. Those opponents will be determined at a later date.

Season tickets for the 22-game home schedule are now on sale here, with individual and family tickets and 10-game voucher packs available.
